The resort is nestled by the shores of Taal lake with a good view of the Taal Volcano Island and the ‘false’ Taal Volcano. (False, because a great number of Filipinos think that this smaller volcano shaped isle is the Taal Volcano). The resort has a beach with a long stretch of construction grade sand on a somewhat cloudy freshwater lake with lots of vegetation. Although, the resort does not recommend swimming in this lake, it has a number of beautiful swimming pools for kids and adults.

After a 2-hour drive from Manila, running through mountain passes and thick rainforests, we arrived at the Caylabne Bay Resort. There were 11 of us, the parents, my brother’s family, me, my wifey, David and Natalie.
There were hundreds of dead jellyfish on the beach. We had to clean it up by making a graveyard for the jellyfishes. But it was fun. We also had a vehicular mishap during the vacation. View the video of this jellyfish holocaust and our experience during the vacation at my blog, Caylabne Bay Resort, Singleshutter

It has been a long time since I last posted a photo on my gallery. I’ve been having a slump, not just on photography, but on Post-processing and posting too. So, from now on I’m going to force myself to post all my pending images. I’ll do my best to post one photo a day starting now…

The other day we went to this shop called ‘Color Me Mine’ in Shangri-La to have a custom-painted mug. First we picked a nice white ceramic mug, and then picked some colors for painting. David painted one half of the mug and I painted the other half. See how it looks like, click the thumb:

We call it the ‘The Family Mug‘. Heheheh.

I was recently contracted to develop a corporate
branding identity for a logistic firm in the US. They hired me to
design a new logo, develop their website, produce content and design
some marketing collaterals (brochures, business cards, etc.)
First up was the logo. I came up with 2 designs, let me know what you
guys think and which one you would prefer before I post the client’s
choice.

The ‘Logo Font and Lettering Bible’ by Leslie Cabarga is a very helpful
book for Logo Designers. Whether it be beginner, intermediate or
advanced level. It’s easy to read through, it has an outstanding layout
and its content is excellent. How it first showed mistakes in designing
logos and then how to do it correctly. It has a section entitled, ‘How
to Design a Logo in 3 Quasi-Easy Steps’ …

We took pictures of our friends from SIL. Dan and Ellen, with their
cute little baby Davies make up the Brooks Family. It was an early
morning shoot, the sun was just right and the air was cool. Baby Davies
was in a really good mood. Everything was going perfeclty. These are
the results of our shoot.
